Victorian 14K Gold Blue Enamel Diamond Picture Locket

An exquisite mid Victorian period 14K gold and blue enamel picture locket pendant, c. 1860. The blue is a rare, deep royal blue, not quite cobalt. The front has an early monogram of TC with a crown. The piece is decorated with small old mine cut diamonds. There is a gold inlaid oval band surrounding the design and also on the back. The piece has no marks, but tests 14K gold. There is a tiny tiny pin size ding to the left of the C, not visible without a jeweler’s loupe. Otherwise, the piece is in excellent condition. It retains its two internal picture covers and the locket closes tightly. It measures 1 1/4″ in height (an additional 1/2″ with the two jump rings), and measures 1 1/8″ in width. It weighs 15.4 grams.
