Rokeby, Sir Walter Scott. 4th edition. Edinburgh: Ballantyne. 1813. 413pp. 8.25″ x 5″. Full calf binding with blind and gilt spine and boards, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Some light rubbing to spine, otherwise a very nice example of a 200 year old English binding. Matching thumbhole slipcase. Two-way fore-edge painting showing an armorial helm, sword and musket over a battle scene. The other fan sets Scott’s portrait with views of his country mansion Abbotsford and Edinburgh castle. Monogrammed by Martin Frost with an authentication ticket.
