“Little Mexico” written and signed by William Spratling

“Little Mexico” was one of William Spratling’s books written while he was still struggling in Mexico to determine what his carrier would be. The foreword is written by his friend the famous artist, Diego Rivera. It was intended to be a travel log for traveling in Mexico.

This copy is signed by the himself, William Spratling as is the dedication written by Spratling as well. It is printed in black and white on 198 pages. The illustrations in the book are also by Spratling’s hand. In the 1920s, a lithographer in New York City had convinced Spratling to even have a set of his drawings from this book printed.

This would be a fun piece to add to a Spratling collection. BTW, we do have two of the original lithographs from the 1920s that are signed and numbered by Spratling as well available for sale. Both are numbered one of thirty-five.
