Great Gatsby Era Sterling and Rhinestone Bracelet

This wonderful vintage Art Deco era piece of costume jewelry is marked “Sterling Pat. 32017 Diamonbar”. The bracelet is set with approximately 82 sparkling blue “stones” and approximately 55 shimmering rhinestone “diamonds” in sterling silver. There are approximately 41 hinged links that make up this bracelet with a “buckle style” clasp that has a cleaver safety to it. Each link is set with three “stones,” one clear and two blue, one on each side of the clear stone. Even the clasp/buckle is set with the clear rhinestone “diamonds.”

The Diamonbar mark is from Wachenheimer Brothers Inc. of Providence, Rhode Island. They were working from 1907 to the 1930s. This bracelet is about seven inches long and seven sixteenths inches wide, not quite one half inch wide. The construction and workmanship in this piece appears to have been done in much the same way that jewelry with real stones would have been done.

This is a great, fun piece of wearable roarin’ 1920s history, making you feel like it could have been worn around the Great Gastby.
