Each breed delineated with an extensive essay by an individual expert associated with the breed.

A lavishly produced book, intended for the serious dog lover of the day. Printed on heavy paper stock. Profusely illustrated with black and white photographs in-text and numerous full page plates with tipped in glossy stock photos mounted to framed heavy page stock. All full page plates shielded by lettered tissue guard that names the champion shown, along with breeder and owner and lineage number. Original essays contributed for each breed by a writer well versed with the qualities and idiosyncrasies of the breed. For example, essays on Collies and Fox Terriers were written by F. Freeman Lloyd; the essay on Great Danes by J Fletcher Lutz; … on Bulldogs by Charles G Hopton, …Chesapeake Bay Dog by Captain S. Carroll… etc. This is a very scarce volume.
