copper trotting horse weather vane


Running/trotting horse copper w/zinc head with great green verdegris surface with traces of gilt showing, several bullet holes filled with lead, light coating of light colored paint present but mostly weathered off from years of exposure. Slight separation at base of tail but is quite solid so mentioned for sake of complete accuracy. Found in Berks County, PA
circa 1875
This form is often called Ethan Allen after a famous trotter.
Mounted on new stand for ease of display.
A superior piece of Americana.
