A Louis XVIth Child’s Chair by Delorme



In the form of a miniature marquise, and constructed in carved gilt wood, having Aubusson tapestry upholstery, depicting domestic animals within a foliate border. Rising from turned and fluted legs, with rosaces at the angles, the square form back with floral finials, with channelled arms meeting the lower frame. Stamped to the underside ‘Delorme’ and struck with a marque de fer, a fleur de lys.

Probably Jean-Louis Faizelot Delorme, enrolled as a maître in 1763
