A wonderful sterling 3pc tea service applied with mixed metal bugs on leaves, George Shiebler, #452.
Each piece is hand raised and chased into naturalistic leaf-formed shapes, with ruffled rims. The surface is heavily planished with a semi-matt finish. The handles are shaped like winding leaf-stems.
The teapot has an applied copper bug and a silver bug of another species on the opposite side.
The sugar bowl, no lid and not made for one, has two dissimilar sterling bugs on opposite sides.
The creamer has one solitary sterling bug on the front.
Condition is very good, just one age crack, not separated, in one of the ivory spacers. Each piece has a 3-letter monogram: CLR in script.
Each piece is fully marked with the Shiebler logo, sterling, #452.
